Korrie the Exile
The Feol dreamer
Saerun named her daughter Unnur, a name that represented love. And Unn would become a wellspring of love in turn.Saerun wasn't a feol, at least not visibly. And for the first decade of Unnur's life, no one could tell she was any different. When she was small, her greatest fear was actually being a boy. She didn't want to find out that suddenly she wasn't who she thought she was, to be taken from her home to never return. To her, being a boy was the worst fate. She didn't even have a concept of the idea that she'd be something stranger still. When other viera entered puberty, they grew quickly. Un on the other hand, didn't. She reached her maximum height at just under five fulms, while all the other girls were approaching seven.Saerun understood what was happening, and became intensely protective of her daughter for a few years. When the community caught on to what she was, though, things got messy. Sliabh, her village, believed that the feol really existed, and so she was recognized quickly for what she was. Soon, Unn was facing prejudice, distrust, and disgust from her peers. Which didn't stop them from making intimate advances, but made those advances dirty secret trysts with the exotic, rather than anything meaningful. Adding to her abuse, Saerun left the Wood, making Unn the daughter of an exile. But Unn understood why: Saerun had gone seeking a feol warren to take them both in.For nearly two decades, Saerun would have moogles smuggle letters to young Unn. These letters told her a lot about the outside world, and helped her in learning some of its languages. She learned that her mother had taken in a Hyur named Lilith, an orphan of the Dalmascan front she had encountered on her travels. She learned about Ivalice, and Thavnair, and Eorzea. In a small way, Unn lived through these letters. But one day they stopped. Saerun was leaving Thavnair chasing rumors of an underground city in Eorzea that might've been a warren. But those letters abruptly stopped. She didn't know the reason why was Saerun's death when the Final Days reached Thavnair, so she resolved to travel to Eorzea to find her mom.She took the name Korrine Abel and set out on her journey. On the ship from Thavnair to Eorzea, she met the first other feol she'd ever seen, a girl about her age named Ayleth Ymir. Ayleth was from a clan outside the Wood, who didn't have hostility to their kind, but was leaving to learn more about aether and magic. Ayleth worshipped the moon - not Menphina, but the moon itself - and lacked much experience outside her faith and academia. Korrie and Ayly were fast friends, and being a more gregarious sort Korrie dragged Ayly to a music festival in Eorzea called Mogstock. One night, drunk on moonshine (because it was a moon thing and neither feol had any idea how strong it was), Korrie declared Ayleth her 'very best friend' and kissed her. Which may be underselling it, the Mogstock staff ushered them from the afterparty to privet chambers after seeing the kiss.So began the first real romance Korrie had ever experienced. But it lacked strong roots. And soon they drifted. Ayly moved to Sharlayan to continue her studies, and Korrie stayed behind. By this point she'd become manager of a tea shop owned by Lady Eliza Blanchimont of Ishgard, and in truth though she was good at rare Vieran magics and languages, Korrie couldn't see herself as a Sharlayan scholar. So she stayed behind, and things came to an end. When recovering from this heartbreak Korrie decided to go to a sapphic bar called the Girl in Red on a whim; she was in pain and wanted a casual fling and alcohol. That's not what she found. She found a place that quickly became her home.No small part of this was meeting Ranemi Rinan on her first night at the Girl, someone who instantly captivated her, but who she approached poorly, with performance and grandstanding born from the thought that who she really was simply wouldn't be worth loving. But she'd also met people wiser than her, like Lux, who helped guide her. She even got the support of Ranemi's other partner, Candy, after a tumultuous first meeting. So she tried again, not as a charming character but as herself. She quickly determined Ranemi was her primary partner, and started to spen mornings and evenings at the gecko's residence, but the surety that Ranemi helped her find in the notion that she could be genuinely loved was as life-changing as the atmosphere of the Girl in Red. Her confidence restored, like the fae bartender Bloom.Bloom's impact on her was as profound as Ranemi's in its way. Before Bloom, Korrie had assumed no one could make her feel like the gecko made her feel, but Bloom proved otherwise. This, combined with tension in other relationships, made her reevaluate and break off things that didn't rise to the level set by these two partners. Bloom also led Korrie to training in fae magic under Queen Astra of the Court of Stars, with the eventual goal of becoming a faerie herself. It wasn't like mortality meant a whole lot to a Feol, Korrie reasoned. At the same time she was developing her relationship with Ranemi, Korrie was also growing more invested in the Girl in Red. After seeing how burned out the Girl's bartenders were, on one night when no one showed to tend the bar Korrie elected to do it herself. Soon she was one of the main bartenders at the Girl, which helped bring out her confidence and gregariousness even more. Her dedication to flirtatiousness and customer satisfaction - even and especially after hours - made her a popular fixture at the bar, even being praised by the dragoness owner, Iya, for helping make the bar what it is today. This came to an end when an overworked Korrine got snippy at work and was fired for her unprofessional behavior born of burnout. She lamented this and vowed never again to have her favorite drink, the Kiss on the Lips, until she was allowed behind the bar to make it herself. Bloom reluctantly employed her at Secret Garden under Korrie's promise to never overwork herself at her new home.Still seeking her mother and adoptive sister, Korrie is content to spend her time loving those held in her heart and learning about the world around her. She hopes to write a great romance novel and learn the guitar, but with millennia of life left in her she's sure to master both arts eventually. Her priority is her partners: Ranemi and Bloom.
Korrie's Magic
One with the Wood
Viera Salve-Makers have relatively unique abilities to commune with and command the Wood. This Floramancy, as Korrie calls it, nay be comparable to the broader recognized druidism. It includes the ability to talk to plants, cast sunlight into them to assist in their growth, and urge them into movement as the caster's discretion. While generally this makes Korrie an excellent gardener, she's also capible of using vine whips, burning petals, cutting leaves and so forth in combat, as well as ablative wooden shielding. She isn't strong in this art yet, but she practices it regularly, especially in forms of communication and nurturing plant life but intermittantly in the combat applications of her craft as well.

Korrie's Employment

The Secret Garden
Korrie's main focus is her work at The Girl in Red. It's a home for her, a safe haven she's grown to deeply love and that's grown to love her in return. She tends bar and has been known for her spicy Specials. As the bar helped her grow she helped the bar grow, becoming a fixture when it came to pouring drinks, kissing girls, and quirky advetisements.
Atelier Coffee and Tea
Korrie's first job when she got to Eorzea was a sapphic tea shop that was, at the time, called Black Lotus but later rebranded to the Atelier as a family of alchemists took over. She's risen through the ranks to being one of two general managers. Korrie also uses the plant magic of Salve-makers, which she calls Floramancy, to grow tea plants.
Rommie and the Runaways
Korrie joined a band with the famous courtesan Andromeda Laruzedah as its frontwoman. She's been learning electrope guitar and will be one of the band's other vocalists.

Korrie's Partners

Ranemi Rinan
Ranemi is an au ra doctor with what seems to others like a fairly muted and demure personality, but who Korrie is learning to understand on a deeper level, exploring wants and needs with her gecko. Korrie deeply loves Ranemi.

Dreamers Bloom
Bloom is a fae of the Court of Stars and owns the Secret Garden, a sapphic bar affiliated with the Girl in Red. Korrie and Bloom bonded over being young women driven by emotion, and over Korrie's floramancy.

Tarqun Qestir
Tarqun is unique. Not just because as a Qestir she refuses to speak forcing Korrie to learn her language, but because their relationship is explicitly light, given Tarqun being aromantic. Korrie calls them 'fuck buddies with benefits.'
The Wood's Unfortunate Daughters
